Room 5 enjoyed their first well being day of the year as they took part in lots of fun activities!
The theme was Italy as we were also celebrating European Language Day 🇮🇹🇮🇹
This morning the class learnt about the country of Italy and some geographical facts….the countries it bordered with, the different regions and famous landmarks and the famous volcanoes of Italy.
We started off looking at volcanoes -Mount Etna which is found in Sicily. We recognised how the country is shaped like a boot and Sicily is like a ball at the end of the boot. Then we journeyed north and passed Stromboli volcano and on towards Naples and found Mount Vesuvius. It was interesting to hear about these volcanoes and we watched a clip of Stromboli which last erupted in 2022. Then we went to the hall to create our own exploding volcanoes 🌋
After break we learnt about The Leaning Tower of Piza. This is one of Italy’s famous landmarks. We learnt when it was built and why it is leaning. Then we worked in groups to create our own learning towers. Everyone did a really good job 😊😊
Finally, this afternoon we had an Adobe Express ICT session which a few of the digital leaders helped with. We created European Language Day posters which we uploaded to seesaw. We also tried some Italian cuisine. Pizza of course!! However some boys and girls were brave enough to try other Italian foods etc different meats (Parma ham etc) and also olives!!
