This week with thoughts of Pancake Day we examined the story of the “Runaway Pancake” as a stimulus for our learning. In our play we are exploring baking equipment thinking about how these items work and what is the source of energy since electricity wasn’t available long ago. We have been using sand to create shape buns, making dough and creating buns for our bakery and selling our produce. We played games using iPads to develop numeracy skills and used our story tray to retell events in the story. The children developed some interesting ideas in construction to trap the pancake!!
