World Book Day in Room 4
World Book Day has to be one of the most exciting dates in the school calendar and today the boys and girls in Room 4 certainly celebrated in style!
We started the day with assembly and our excitement was mixed with sadness as this was our last assembly with Colin who is leaving Castledawson very soon.
We then took part in a workshop with Chris from Play it be ear who told us about how to make great characters for our stories.
After break we shared with the class which characters we were dressed as and talked a little bit about why we chose these or why some were our favourite book characters.
The BBC Live Lesson after lunch told us about the different genres of books we may enjoy and helped us to think about how we all have different preferences when it comes to reading.
The day wouldn’t have been complete without some reading time and today everyone chose to read something just for enjoyment so there was a mixture of fiction and non fiction books and reading apps selected.
These days are so special at school and today was a really lovely day spent together celebrating books 📚
