Today R5 boys and girls enjoyed a range of activities during our well-being day.
Mr McGregor led an Ulster Scots Workshop about Bagpipes. We were shocked to learn that bagpipes actually originate from Egypt. He explained the different types of bagpipes that can be used and how different types of bagpipes create different sounds. He told us about the different parts of the bagpipes and how to create a drone sound as well as a melody. He played lots of traditional songs for us, showcasing his amazing skill at playing bagpipes.
In PE we enjoyed learning a dance as part of our PE curriculum and then we had an opportunity to put our thinking skills to the test as we created our own lolly designs and also created catapults. We tested them to discover which went fastest and furthest 😊
