Room 1 were very busy on Tuesday exploring 2s in recognition of 22/2/22. We began the morning looking at the numbers on our clothing and then made crowns to celebrate the day. We made the link creating a number line counting in 1s children were then paired up and we counted in 2s. In our pairs we headed outside to look for the matching dominoes to create pairs on our recording sheet. This involved lots of counting to make sure we only drew the missing dots to complete the dominoes. Our finished dominoes had matching sets of spots and we talked about how we had made 2 sets in each case which is sometimes called doubling.
