The Village Pump
6th Feb 2025
What a lovely afternoon for a walk to the village pump. We took a bucket with us to fill with water to help us think about the many trips to the pump that people had to make long ago to get water. The children turned the wheel but found that the pump no longer works as we all have tap water. Unfortunately there are many people around the world who still have long journeys to make daily for this essential resource.
As a school we remember the importance of the village pump which is featured on our school emblem. The children were able to match the pump to that on their jumpers which will be a daily reminder of life long ago.
