Everyone had a great time today with Sentinus as they took part in a Design and Build workshop.
Today boys and girls were tasked with the challenge of creating a balloon powered car. This was a great opportunity to design, build, test and in some cases, improve their cars. The thought and problem solving was showcased and everyone enjoyed racing them to discover whose went the furthest! James explain that this was demonstrating Isaac Newton’s third law of motion which is ‘for every action there is a reaction.’
Then the boys and girls had the opportunity to amend their designs so the cars were motor powered! They added a pulley/ gear system as well as a motor and then they added the battery which was the source of power. This was also great for testing thinking skills as often improvements had to be made to the pulley.
