Today in room 3 the children carried out an experiment to see which objects would float or sink. First the children had a discussion in groups and predicted what the outcome would be based on the weight, material and shape of each object before trialing it out in the water! We concluded that the size of the object doesn’t determine whether it will float or sink as the smallest marble sank while the large ball floated. Room 3 learned that when the cup was empty it floated, however when it was full it sank.
