P6 and P7 enjoyed a visit from the PSNI and the Road Safety Team today. They found out about bike safety and about how to check their bike for faults. They explored the importance of lights and bright coloured clothing for making ourselves visible on the roads. They also learned that you need a helmet EVERY time you get on your bike even if it's just for a short cycle round your garden.
'A helmet won't save your life if it's lying in the shed,
To save your life it must be on your head!'
After this they went out to meet Kevin on the Safety Bus. He explained the safest ways to board and alight a bus and he shared lots of top tips for travelling safely on buses. This was a really useful activity for our boys and girls today as many of them will be travelling to and from their new schools by bus in September. Lots of relevant and interesting information shared today.
