Room 1 used Safer Internet resources to get us thinking about change. In our groups we examined different images of technology such as games, phones, musical devices and computers sorting images. We discussed how these have changed over time and talked about the technology we use in our home.
We then shared a story on the interactive board about Mo and Jaz whose feelings changed as they watched a film on YouTube which had a scary pop up. Children responded well to the question prompts and were able to recall the importance of telling an adult if they heard or saw something unusual or scary such as pop ups, messages or images on their devices. The children then helped to design a poster to promote the safety message which they illustrated with their own ideas. These posters will now be entered into the school competition for Safer Internet Day.
