Room 1 worked in groups today to explore a problem. Having read the story “The Dot” we thought we’d like to find out some more about a black dot.
Our thinking question was:
Is black the only colour in a black dot?
The children thought about this and predicted what colours might be seen. In groups they recorded their ideas. They then worked together to investigate, observe and record what happened. It was great to hear them make predictions based on what they knew happened when dirty clothes get washed. One group discovered that using a different marker meant the black spot didn’t change when added to water. Not a great result from what was meant to be a washable marker!!
