River Nile Investigation
11th Oct 2023
The children in Room 5 conducted an investigation to discover the difference between planting in soil and planting in sand. We’ve been learning how the Nile flooded a few times each year and the Ancient Egyptians used the sediment on the banks of the Nile to grow crops. The rest of Egypt is desert terrain so we wanted to test what would happen when we planted seeds in the different types of ground but kept all other variables the same.
We can’t wait to see the results. We predict soil is better for growing but we want to find out if any of our seeds grow in the sand.
