Outdoor Play
Room 1 had fun outdoors on Wednesday working together at different areas of play. Activities were intended to extend their learning about farming. The children used their thinking skills to build their own tractor at construction adding a parking brick to stabilise their work. Another group created their own nest after finding some shells and seeing chickens on the farm. Chalk was popular for mark making and self expression. An important aspect of the morning involved the children planting out our seedlings which we sowed several weeks ago. We observed and named the parts of the plants and noted how the roots had grown as we transplanted them. We now hope that our pumpkins and french beans will continue to grow outdoors.
