Let’s go to seaside
Room 1 shared the story of “The Train Ride” and we used this as a stimulus for our indoor play. Children have been painting images from out of the train window and using a paint package on the iPad to create digital pictures. We have developed our fine motor skills using our pincer grip to decorate images of different forms of transports. Children used dough to create vehicles and explored number problem solving to complete pictures using numicon. At construction they have been working cooperatively to build a train track to retell the story. Very impressively children talked about how they used straws to create tracks measuring, cutting and fixing pieces independently. The highlight must be our very own train to take us to the beach.😍
Outdoors children had lots of opportunities to work and play cooperatively. We had very industrious gardeners clearing weeds in preparation for our beans. Trikes proved as popular as ever while great fun was had used the obstacle course. Children at the mud kitchen had fun extracting water using a bucket which had sprung a leak! Others opted for an adventure at sea with friendly sharks! It was great observing everyone having fun and sharing.
