We had fun this week exploring further the story of the Little Red Hen. Outside the children loved getting the trikes out for travelling. There were some interesting cakes made in the mud kitchen for our fairytale guests. In chalk the children created story maps and the sand was used to build fairytale settings. Some cvc word building took place at the sound mat.
Indoors the children have been pouring, filling, watering and exploring waterwheels. We have made different doughs using these to create bread and buns. The children have made buns in the sand tray and sorted seeds for the Little Red Hen. The farm mat has proved a popular play area for the children.
