Today we had Joe from the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service. He explained when ringing 999 that we need to stay calm and give clear details about where we are if we are stuck in or can see a fire. He also explained that other jobs that he does is helping animals, helping people who have been in car accidents and is part of a water rescue team. We found out that our night time routines are very important and that we must remember to close doors, switch off plugs all plugs and not charge any appliances at night. Joe let us try on some items of his uniform and Harry tried on the whole uniform to find out how each piece protects him while he is fighting fires.
