On Tuesday 19th March we were pleased to host two teams from Knockloughrim Primary School for a friendly football match. Both teams put on a great performance and there was plenty of skill and talent on show.
In Match 1 the scoreboard opened with an own goal from one of Knockloughrim’s players. The first half was quick paced and action packed and as the half time whistle blew C.P.S. were in the lead with a 4-0 scoreline. With a few changes in positions to give players a chance to try different roles it changed a little and Knockloughrim started to pull it back. With the last few minutes to go and the score at 5-4 to C.P.S Knockloughrim tried hard to hold on and get an equaliser but C.P.S really stuck together as a team to hold it off to a 5-4 finish.
Match 2 provided a great opportunity for some of our younger players. There was plenty of action and some great teamwork on show and despite a disappointing score, everyone really enjoyed the experience and are looking forward to our next match in a few weeks’ time. Our boys and girls did us proud with their effort and great sportsmanship and it was great to see them putting into practice all that they have been learning at afterschool football club. Well done everyone!
