Exploring Camouflage
8th Mar 2024
Room 1 explored the importance of camouflage for animals. Having looked at various animals in the Arctic we recognised that most of them have white coats which help them hide in the snow. Outdoors we worked with partners to collect a variety of coloured caterpillars. We found out that green and brown caterpillars were harder to see as they were camouflaged which would keep them safe from hungry birds. In our play we created our own polar bear pictures with a colourful night sky like those of the Northern Lights. It was much easier to see our polar bears against this sky rather than the white snow.
