Room 5 children have been learning all about inventors in their new topic. Thomas Edison was a famous inventor we explored and his work relating to the electric lightbulb. Over the past couple of weeks we’ve been understanding how electrical circuits work and we were able to make a bulb light up and a motor using a switch.
We then challenged ourselves to create a quiz board. We designed our quiz first relating to a theme of our own choice within our group. Then after choosing questions and corresponding answers, we set to wiring up our boards. When the question was answered correctly, the bulb would light up.
Every group was successful with every quiz board working. We worked really well in our groups and also showed a lot of perseverance when we had to fix wires that weren’t connecting or bulbs that wouldn’t light up etc.
Another really impressive task completed by Room 5 children and they can’t wait to play their games with other classes tomorrow. One even related to Birds as we are taking part in the Big Birdwatch tomorrow.
