Room 1 explored the story of the Gingerbread Man in their play. The children quickly identified why the Gingerbread Man didn’t want to get wet in the river. The general consensus was that he would be soggy and break into little pieces. This got us to think about what other liquids Gingerbread Men should avoid. We suggested a number of different things and decided in our groups to test out our thinking. First we predicted what we thought might happen, then we tested and recorded our ideas using our observational skils. We concluded that Gingerbread Men should avoid lemonade as they dissolve quickest in this! Oil was the safest liquid as the Gingerbread stayed in one piece.
