The boys and girls in Room 4 have been busy in literacy writing poems about two little bees called Derry and Kerry. A local poet, Noel Doyle approached the school to invite the children to take part in a poetry competition and we really enjoyed the challenge of creating poems in the same style to his with the ABCB rhyming pattern. We were delighted to hear on Friday evening that a number of our poems and illustrations had impressed Noel and he had chosen to display them at his book launch in Seamus Heaney Homeplace. We look forward to seeing him in school in a few weeks to present the winners with their prize 🐝
