Room 1 have been exploring 3d shapes.Children looked at the 2d faces which help to form the 3d shapes. They investigated which shapes we can build with and which shapes roll. Today we had an indoor shape hunt(due to the weather) to help fill Santa’s sack with presents. The children used their observational skills to find shapes hidden in the classroom and named these as they placed them in the sack. Afterwards we sorted the shapes for different properties and then the children completed their own cut and stick activity. Our exploration of 3d shapes links directly to our play building with wooden blocks and wrapping Christmas presents using junk materials.🙂
