Welcome to Room 1 (P1/P2).

We can't wait to begin a year of learning experiences with our new class welcoming back some P2 children who will love sharing their class and school with our new P1 pupils. 

Mrs Evans is the class teacher and children are fortunate to have the support of two classroom assistants. Together we will support and encourage children to become a community of learners developing and fostering kindness towards others through our "bucketfilling" activities. 

Our learning will be based on the theme “Our Wonderful World”  through this we will explore our immediate world (both in school and our homes). Children will learn about the many wonderful plants and animals in our world. We will examine the importance of colour before exploring pets we keep at home. Following this Percy the Park Keeper will help us find out about woodland plants and animals. Cross curricular links will be made and opportunities to develop literacy and numeracy skills utilised linking learning to stories.

Outdoor learning is important to us. We regularly take our literacy and numeracy outside and children partipate in outdoor play on Welly Wednesdays. Exercise and healthy eating  are encouraged through healthy breaks and the daily mile. Children will take part in PE sessions weekly on a Monday and Thursday.
